“EARTH medicine 0”
Toward the World’s Finest Wagyu
Arita Farm places the philosophy of “EARTH medicine 0” at the very core of its Wagyu production.
This concept represents a commitment to raising cattle with minimal reliance on pharmaceuticals, drawing instead on the natural cycle of the environment and the inherent vitality of the animals themselves—aiming to create Wagyu that places no undue burden on the earth, on people, or on the cattle.
Healthy soil, pure water, carefully selected feed, and attentive human care.
When these elements function in harmony, cattle are able to express their full natural potential. The result is Wagyu that is not only genuinely delicious, but also gentle on the body.
Guided by this philosophy, Arita Farm has continued to pursue uncompromising Wagyu production. In recognition of these efforts, Arita Wagyu was awarded the Gold Medal in the Wagyu Category at the World Steak Challenge 2025, and Arita Farm was further honored with the World No.1 Producer award in the Large Producer category.

About the World Steak Challenge

It is organized by William Reed, the UK-based company behind globally respected platforms such as The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and the International Wine Challenge.
In the 2025 edition, more than 500 producers and exporters from over 30 countries competed, with all entries evaluated through blind tasting.
About Arita Farm

Drawing on more than 70 years of accumulated knowledge and experience in cattle farming, Arita Farm currently raises approximately 8,000 head of Japanese Black Wagyu cattle.
By managing the entire process—from breeding and fattening to processing and sales—under one integrated system, Arita Farm delivers safe, high-quality beef consistently from its own facilities directly to consumers.
The barns at Arita Farm are situated within expansive grassland and designed with an emphasis on ventilation and natural light.
Cattle are never overcrowded; each animal is provided ample space and raised in an environment filled with fresh air and gentle sunlight.
Every aspect of the facility is designed with one priority in mind: the health and well-being of the cattle.
About Arita Wagyu

Arita Wagyu is raised with health and quality as its highest priorities, following a fattening program that minimizes the use of pharmaceuticals.
As one of the Miyazaki Wagyu bloodlines, it has earned exceptional recognition, including top honors at the National Wagyu Performance Competition for four consecutive tournaments.
Wagyu calves are raised on pasture for approximately 14 months in a rich natural environment, where they are free to move and grow with minimal stress.
This approach is extremely rare for Japanese Black Wagyu. While most Wagyu cattle spend the majority of their lives confined indoors, Arita Wagyu is different.
By growing up on open land and feeling the earth beneath their feet, the cattle remain calm, relaxed, and robust as they mature.
The cattle drink fresh, clean natural water drawn from 80 meters underground in the Osuzu Mountain range.

Because water significantly influences organ health and meat quality, Arita Farm ensures a constant supply of pure water.
As a result, the cattle develop clean, healthy organs with no unpleasant odor, while the meat features light, refined fat and lean meat rich in deep umami.
For feed, Arita Farm uses a carefully selected blend of 10 types of grains along with four varieties of pasture grass cultivated in-house.
This original feed formulation is created by a government-certified feed manufacturing manager and is provided twice daily.
The feed incorporates recycled spent mushroom substrate, making it environmentally responsible while being rich in protein, dietary fiber, vitamins D and B, iron, zinc, and magnesium—an ideal nutritional source for Wagyu cattle.

Cattle are allowed to eat until fully satisfied, enhancing both aroma and flavor of the meat.
No antibiotics are used in the feed, ensuring complete safety for both the cattle and those who enjoy Arita Wagyu.
Arita Farm does not deliberately pursue the highest A5 grade, commonly regarded as the pinnacle of Wagyu classification.
Excessive marbling is not necessarily healthy. Instead, Arita Wagyu seeks the ideal balance between lean meat and fat—Wagyu that can be enjoyed every day without heaviness.

While the Japanese Wagyu grading system places strong emphasis on the visual appearance of marbling, it does not always guarantee superior flavor.
Arita Wagyu transcends grading, offering true flavor defined not by appearance, but by balance, philosophy, and taste.
